GARCIA-HERNANDEZ, Bohol—At least 23 passengers of a bus were hurt on Thursday when the vehicle skidded and turned turtle because the road was slippery due to the early morning rain.
PO3 Elvan Cadiz of the Garcia-Hernandez Police Station, said the bus (with plate number 070606) of Southern Star was heading to the capital Tagbilaran City around 6:10 a.m.
Upon reaching Barangay (villaged) West Canayaon here, Cadiz said the passenger asked the bus driver Jojit Bete to pull over.
Bete, however, lost control of the vehicle when the bus skidded because the road was slippery. The bus overturned and was partly submerged in the ricefield.
The passengers were brought to Teodoro B. Galagar Memorial Hospital in nearby Jagna town for treatment.
Cadiz said there were no serious injuries.
Only an older woman was still at the hospital. She had suffered a minor injury and complained of a back pain. She was not identified. RAM/rga
