Construction worker shot dead in Subic

SUBIC, Zambales — A construction worker was shot dead on Tuesday evening (Sept. 6) by an unidentified assailant at a village’s covered court.

Jason Darusin, 28, a resident of Barangay (village) Mangan-vaca here, died on the spot after the suspect shot him in the back at8:30 p.m., said PO2 Anthony Cacho, investigator at Subic police station.

Citing witnesses’ accounts, the police said the unidentified gunman was wearing a black jacket, a pair of camouflage pants, and a baseball cap.

The suspect escaped on foot. Investigators recovered from the crime scene seven spent shells fired from a caliber .22 pistol.
