65 nabbed in QC drug raids

MANILA — Sixty-five persons were arrested in police raids of three separate drug dens in Barangay Culiat, Quezon City on Wednesday afternoon.

Nine of those arrested were found to be in possession of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) while the rest were discovered to be staying in the three houses believed to be drug dens located along Lanao, Libyan and Muhajidin Streets at the Salam Compound.

Seven sachets of shabu and other drug paraphernalia were recovered from the suspects and the three locations.

Senior Supt. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, head of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said the operation was done in coordination with barangay (village) officials and tribal leaders in the area.

He added that all those apprehended have been detained and would remain in the custody of the police. Eleazar also said police have started investigation to determine the owners of the drug dens.  SFM
