CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines — Three persons died in a vehicular accident on Friday in Mambajao town, Camiguin province, a local official there said.
Catarman municipal councilor Marve Rodriguez, who witnessed the accident, told Magnum Radio here that a light cargo truck loaded with workers was en route to a construction site in Catarman town when its brake malfunctioned.

As the driver lost control of the vehicle, it rammed into a coconut tree in Naasag village of Mambajao town at around 7:30 a.m.
Two died on the spot, another five were rushed to Mambajao General Hospital but one was declared dead on arrival, according to Rodriguez.
Mambajao police later identified the fatalities, all town residents, as Jerry Agbo of Pandan village, Emmanuel Sale of Agoho village, and Verson Semania, also of Agoho village.
