PPA reminds passengers not to bring firecrackers while traveling

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) reminded the public on Saturday that passengers are not allowed to bring any type of firecrackers at ports nationwide.

PPA issued the reminder in a Facebook post, noting that refraining from bringing firecrackers could prevent passengers from having “problems.”

It particularly listed the following firecrackers as prohibited, in line with the list earlier issued by the Philippine National Police:

PNP previously explained that these firecrackers are illegal because they are usually overweight, containing more than 1/3 teaspoon or 0.2 grams of explosives.

According to the country’s police force, these also often lack proper markings, including the name and address of the manufacturer.
