SUBIC, Zambales – A fisherman from Masinloc town has been missing in the West Philippine Sea since Sunday after his boat was reportedly hit by a commercial vessel.

Gerald Malinao, 29, of Barangay (village) Inhobol in Masinloc was separated from a group of other fishermen while fishing some 20 miles from the province, said Dario Diaz, head of the Municipal Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Management Council in Masinloc.

Diaz said a commercial ship ran into Malinao’s 7-meter long motor boat on Sunday night.
