SAN RAFAEL, Bulacan — The bodies of two pilots whose helicopter crashed during a rescue mission were recovered on Saturday (Aug. 27) in the mountainous site of Donya Remedios Trinidad town, the Philippine Army announced on Sunday (Aug. 28).

The remains of retired colonel Miguel Logronio and Jay Gregorio were found by members of the Army’s 48th Infantry Battalion in Sitio Macua, Barangay Kabayunan, at 3:30 p.m. near the wrecked helicopter.

The pilots took part in a search, rescue, and retrieval operation for the employees of CAVDEAL, a construction firm, who were trapped in a tunnel of the Sumag River Diversion Project (SRDP) on Aug. 22 during monsoon rains.
