TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines—The Cagayan Valley police office replaced 22 police chiefs in four of the region’s five provinces for performing badly in the government’s war on illegal drugs.
In Isabela, the “best performing police officers” took over the posts of Senior Insp. Prospero Agonoy (Quirino), Senior Insp. Benjamin Bumanglag (Delfin Albano), Senior Insp. Jonathan Binayug (Palanan), Senior Insp. Aladin Revocal (San Pablo), Senior Insp. Ignacio Layugan (Dinapigue), and Senior Insp. Richard Limbo (Divilacan), Supt. Manuel Bringas (Ilagan City) and Supt. Engelbert Soriano (Cauayan City), said Chief Supt. Gilbert Sosa, Cagayan Valley regional police director.
In Cagayan province, Sosa relieved Chief Insp. Alvin Mabazza (Alcala), Senior Insp. Antonio Palattao (Allacapan), Senior Insp. Eugenio Catubag (Rizal), Senior Insp. Ronald Balod (Sta. Praxedes), Senior Insp. Mario Maraggun (Calayan), and Senior Insp. Christopher Danao (Buguey).
In Nueva Vizcaya, Chief Insp. Larry Pinkihan (Kasibu), Chief Insp. Joeffrey Bulong (Ambaguio) and Senior Insp. Rudil Bassit (Kayapa) were ordered to step down, while Senior Insp. Alex Orbillo of Nagtipunan town in Quirino had been replaced.
