‘Dindo’ maintains strength, to exit PAR Sunday

Typhoon Dindo (international name: Lionrock) maintained its strength as it continued to move slowly, the state weather bureau said on Thursday.

In a weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the typhoon packed maximum sustained winds of 160 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 195 kph.

Dindo was last tracked at 985 kilometers east northeast of Itbayat, Batanes as it moved northeast at 7 kph.

Pagasa said the typhoon is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Sunday morning.

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms will prevail over Metro Manila and nearby provinces, it added. YG/CDG/rga
