Cloudy skies, rains over Metro Manila, nearby provinces on Friday

Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms are expected over Metro Manila and nearby provinces on Friday due to the southwest monsoon over the western section of Luzon.

These areas include Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Central Luzon, MIMAROPA and Ilocos region, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

Typhoon Dindo (international name Lion Rock) remained almost stationary. It was last spotted 965 kilometers east of Itbayat, Batanes and maintained its speed of 7 kph east northeast.

The typhoon packed maximum sustained winds of 160 kilometers per hour and gusts of 195 kph.
