The tail boom of the civilian helicopter that went missing near Quezon had been found by the Philippine Air Force, the military said on Tuesday.

Air Force spokesperson Col. Araus Robert Musico said a Sokol chopper spotted the plane debris at Sitio Tambo in Barangay (village) Umiray, General Nakar, past 4 p.m.

The Air Force team could not immediately land on the vicinity of the crash because there was no landing area.

A four-seater helicopter of MacroAsia sent to pick up the rescuers of workers killed in a flooded tunnel in Quezon had gone missing since Monday.

The chopper, with a pilot and copilot onboard, took off from Norzagaray, Bulacan, around 12 noon on Monday but it was not able to reach its destination.
