Boarding a red Toyota Innova with an “8” plate, a vehicle owned by Anakpawis Rep. Ariel Casilao, the Tiamzons exited the Crame’s Gate 3 and went to the main gate to meet their supporters from groups under the progressive alliance Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan).

Giving a message before the protesters and the media, the Tiamzons thanked President Rodrigo Duterte for releasing them as well as for his openness on the peace talks, which could pave way for the end of the communist rebels’ armed struggle.

The only solution to the condition of all the political prisoners is their release),” she said.

(We thank President Duterte now that the right path in the peace talks will resume. The important issues and bases in our society should be discussed to know why there is a war happening in our country.)

Separate courts handling the cases of the Tiamzons allowed them to post bail so they could participate in the peace talks between the NDF and the Philippine government in Oslo, Norway starting August 22 until 27.

Of the 22 political consultants supposed to fly to Oslo, only 17 have been released from detention.
