Yellow, orange warning up in Metro Manila, nearby provinces

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Tuesday night raised a yellow warning over Metro Manila and nearby provinces as the Southwest Monsoon continues to bring heavy rains across the country.

Pagasa, in a heavy rainfall warning issued at 11:00 p.m., also placed  Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite and Batangas under yellow warning.

The orange rainfall warning, which means flooding is threatening, was raised over Zambales and Bataan.

Meanwhile, Nueva Ecija, Laguna, Rizal and Quezon provinces are expected to experience light to moderate with occasional heavy rains, which may persist for two to three hours.

Some local government units announced class suspensions for Wednesday, August 10, due to the inclement weather. Anthony Q. Esguerra
