Hiroshi nips USC-TC in physical match

The Hiroshi Football Club (FC) survived a physical match against the University of San Carlos-Technological Center (USC-TC) and logged a 2-0 victory at the start of the Cebu Amateur Football Club (CAFC) 11th National Interclub Football Cup yesterday at the USC-TC field.

The Men’s Open category game ended with three red cards and 11 yellow cards but Hiroshi FC managed to come out on top to tally the first three points in the category.

USC-TC accounted for eight of the 13 yellow cards and two red cards.

Voltaire Montebon was the first Hiroshi booter to find the back of net at the 9th minute of the match via an indirect kick that resulted from a dangerous foul committed by Bong Aller on Bensie Dionela.

The second goal was scored by Junard Aguilar on the 23rd minute via a penalty kick.

Hiroshi FC’s counterpart in the 40-Above category was also successful after routing Erco FC, 8-0, at the San Roque football field.

The second game saw the Queen City United-A/WealthBank edging its sister team QCU-B/WealthBank, 2-1.

In the Boys 17-Under, Abellana National School (ANS)-Pomeroy, Ateneo de Cebu and USC-TC racked up their first wins while Danao FC and Springdale ended their match in stalemate at 2-all.

ANS Pomeroy routed Blessed John, 11-3; Ateneo blanked USC-NC, 6-0; and USC-TC outclassed Mandaue Technical Institute (MTI), 4-1.

However, MTI’s Boys 14-Under counterpart compensated for its senior team’s loss with a 19-0 annihilation of the SJSM/3BROS.

In the Boys 12-Under played at the Springdale football field in Lahug, the Springdale FC sneaked past Canduman FC, 2-1, while Danao FC demolished USC-NC, 5-0.

In the Players 10, San Roque Royal United (SRRU) made mincemeat of Canduman FC, 6-0; while Count FC and Danao FC ended their match with a 2-all draw.
