Motorcycle-riding gunmen kill engineer, 2 others in Maguindanao

COTABATO CITY – Unidentified men shot and killed a public engineer and two others, including the engineer’s son, in Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao on Thursday, police said.

The victims, according to Insp. Razul Pandulo, the Maguindanao police spokesperson, were on a grey Toyota Hilux pickup truck and were heading for this city when attacked by two men riding tandem in Barangay Satan at 12:45 p.m.

Killed were engineer Landap Guiamad, 46, an employee of the Maguindanao provincial engineering office; his son Anwar, 26; and his, relative Samon Lauban, 56.

Guimad’s driver, Abdulazis Guiamad, 25, survived the attack but suffered bullet wounds.

“We are investigating the motive behind the attack as well the personalities behind it,” Pandulo said./ac/rga
