Robredo backs Duterte’s stand on housing, war on drugs
VICE President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo said that she was “encouraged” by the plans presented by President Duterte for the country, particularly in the issue of housing as they share the same vision.
In an interview after Duterte delivered his first State of the Nation Address (Sona), Robredo said that she was elated after learning that they share the same thrust of shunning the demolition of shanties without ensuring proper relocation facilities for the urban poor.
The vice president, who was appointed by Duterte as his administration’s housing czar, said that she also backs some plans of the President which include the streamlining of the government bureaucracy and to cut down red tape.
Meanwhile, Robredo said that she supports the relentless campaign of the Duterte administration to stamp out criminality, drugs and corruption but it should be grounded on the rule of law.
“Masaya tayo na all-out yung kampanya patungkol doon. Sabi niya magiging relentless saka sustained yung kampanya, yun yung dapat.
