Sixty-three percent of Filipinos, or about 6 out of 10 respondents, believe that President Rodrigo Duterte will make good on most, if not all, of his promises, the results of Social Weather Stations (SWS) poll revealed.
The results of the June 24 to 26 SWS poll showed that 22 percent of Filipinos believe that the firebrand president could fulfill “all or nearly all” of his promises while 41 percent said that he could fulfill “most” of his promises.
Thirty-two percent of the respondents said that Duterte will only be able to fulfill “a few” of his promises, three percent of the respondents refused to answer while only one percent said that Duterte will fulfill “almost none or none” of his promises.

The optimism was highest in Mindanao at 75 percent (with 26 percent saying that Duterte will fulfill “all or almost all” of his promises and 49 percent saying that “most” promises will be realized), followed by 66 percent in Metro Manila (24 percent “all or almost all” and 42 percent “most”), 60 percent in “Balance Luzon” (22 percent “all or almost all,” 38 percent “most”) and 54 percent in the Visayas region (18 percent “all or almost all,” 36 percent “most”).
Among social classes, those from Class ABC are the most optimistic that the President will make good of his promises at 69 percent (17 percent “all or almost,” 52 percent “most”) followed by those from Class E at 65 percent (19 percent “all or almost,” 46 percent “most,”) and those from Class D at 63 percent (24 percent “all or almost,” “39 percent “most”).

Roughly 65 percent of women and 63 percent of men said that Duterte can fulfill most, if not all, of his promises.
The poll had 1,200 adult respondents with sampling error margins of ±3 percent for national percentages, and ±6 percent each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
Duterte, who rode to the presidency with a platform of stamping out criminality, corruption, and illegal drugs, is set to bare his legislative agenda in his first State of the Nation Address on Monday afternoon. CDG
