Update
MANILA — After suspected drug lord Meco Tan was shot dead by police during a chase Friday, operatives of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) raided a Valenzuela City warehouse suspected to have been used by Tan as his drug laboratory.
The warehouse is located in the so-called “Plastic City” on T. Santiago St., Valenzuela City.
PNP Director General Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa led the inspection of the warehouse and found 10 other Chinese nationals there.
When Dela Rosa talked to them, most were able to respond to him in Tagalog because they have been staying in the Philippines for six years now.
The PNP and PDEA are now in control of the warehouse where, as of this posting, ingredients and materials in the making of plastic products have been found.
The PNP said this was the warehouse where members of the PNP Anti-Illegal Drug Group (PNP AIDG) first found Tan early Friday morning and where they attempted to serve him a warrant of arrest. (The first breaking news described the place as the house of Tan.)
Upon seeing the lawmen, Tan allegedly escaped aboard his Honda Civic, shots were fired by both parties during an ensuing chase and Tan ended up dead in the process, according to the police.
