Did you know: Gawad Mabini Award for DFA personnel

Presidential Decree No. 490, signed in 1974 by then President Marcos, created the Gawad Mabini Award for Department of Foreign Affairs personnel who have served for at least four years, as well as other Filipinos who have rendered distinguished service promoting the country’s interests at home or abroad.

The annual award is given on July 22, birth anniversary of Apolinario Mabini, the country’s first foreign affairs secretary. Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
