The executive order (EO) on the Freedom of Information (FOI) is now on the table of President Rodrigo Duterte for his signature, a Palace official said on Tuesday.
“It’s now on the President’s table,” Presidential Communications Secretary Martin Andanar told reporters in a chance interview in Malacañang.
Andanar earlier said the EO was an “urgent” directive from Duterte, saying the President was “very serious” on the FOI.

Presidential spokesman Ernesto Abella said the issuance of the EO was a little delayed to make “finer points,” but has vowed that it would be out soon.
