Pagasa monitors LPA near Luzon

The state weather bureau is tracking a low pressure area near Luzon on Friday.

The LPA might enter the Philippine area of responsibility by Friday or Saturday, Aldczar Aurelio of the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said by phone.

The weather disturbance was last spotted 1,785 kilometers east of Luzon and has slim chances of intensifying into a tropical cyclone.

Fair weather will prevail in most parts of the country during the weekend, Aurelio said. CDG/rga
