LPA to dissipate in 24 hours, won’t intensify into cyclone

The low pressure area off Aurora will dissipate within 24 hours, the state weather bureau said on Tuesday.

The LPA was spotted 1,035 kilometers east of Baler as of midday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

It will not intensify into a tropical cyclone, said weather forecaster Benison Estareja.

The LPA will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Caraga and Davao region.

There will be occasional rains over the Ilocos Region, Zambales and Bataan due to southwest monsoon, Pagasa said./rga
