LUCENA CITY, Quezon — Three suspected illegal drug pushers were shot and killed by unidentified men in separate instances in the provinces of Quezon and Batangas over the weekend.

In this city, Rodrigo Polintan Jr., 40, was shot and killed by two men outside his house in Barangay 1 at 1:30 a.m. Sunday, police said.

PO3 Jefferson Tamaray, case investigator, said police found a death threat among messages in Polintan’s mobile phone, with the unidentified sender accusing him of working for the police.

Oracion denied that Polintan was still engaged in selling illegal drugs. “As a matter of fact, he told me that he is now a police asset (informant),” she said.

When asked if indeed Polintan was a police informant, Tamaray said: “We will subject that information to further verification.”

In Tagkawayan town, suspected drug pusher Rolando Selga Jr. was shot and killed by a lone gunman in Barangay Rizal on Saturday afternoon.

In Batangas, a suspected drug pusher died in a shootout with policemen during a drug buy bust in Barangay Anilao in Lipa City on Saturday night.

Insp. Mary Anne Torres, Batangas police information officer, said the suspect, identified only as “Kalbo,” died while being taken to a hospital in that city.  SFM
