Three drug suspects killed in Subic

SUBIC, Zambales—Two more suspected drug pushers were killed in a shoot-out with local policemen during a Saturday drug operation, where an unidentified man was first killed, police said.

The slain suspects engaged the police in a gunfight at about 11 a.m. in Barangay Calapacuan here, said Chief Insp. Leonardo Madrid, Subic police station commander.

Madrid said the policemen were serving search and arrest warrants against a different set of suspects when the two men open fired at the arresting officers. The identities of the slain suspects have not been released to the media at press time.

Earlier at 8 a.m., the police shot dead another drug suspect who fired at them while trying to escape the drug operation in the same village.

They also kept the identities of these suspects confidential.

The police operations started at 6:30 a.m. and ended at 1 p.m., Madrid said.

Police recovered 18 sachets containing suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and drug paraphernalia from the house of one of the arrested suspects.
