Vice President Leni Robredo has noticed a “creepy” coincidence: She and her late husband Jesse Robredo got appointed to a Cabinet post exactly on the same day—July 7.

Robredo on Saturday pointed this out on Facebook, sharing her post from July 9 last year when she remembered the day Jesse broke the news to their daughters that he had been tapped by former President Benigno Aquino III to head the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

“Throwback. My post from exactly a year ago. And this is when it really gets ‘creepy’ (for lack of a better term): Jesse was invited to join P-Noy’s Cabinet on July 7, 2010, after weeks of speculation. His formal appointment came a day or two later,” Robredo said.

“I was invited to join President Duterte’s Cabinet exactly six years later, July 7, 2016. This was after being proclaimed on the day of Jesse’s birthday.”

Over a phone call two days ago, President Rodrigo Duterte asked Robredo to join his cabinet and become his housing secretary.

Robredo readily accepted Duterte’s offer to take over the leadership of the Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDCC), the government’s housing arm previously held by former Vice Presidents Jejomar Binay and Noli de Castro.

Earlier Saturday, Robredo graced the faith group Christian Life Community Philippines’ recommitment activity for its members. The members offered a thanksgiving Mass for Robredo at the Loyola School of Theology in Ateneo de Manila University, Quezon City.

In a brief speech, Robredo shared how her faith and commitment to God accompanied her journey to the vice presidency.
