Suspected drug offenders were arrested on Friday morning following the raid of an alleged drug den in Manila, according to a Radyo Inquirer 990AM report.

Around 4:30 a.m., members of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in Manila raided a compound dubbed “Las Vegas” along M. de la Fuente Street in Sampaloc.

The operation yielded 12 sachets containing alleged “shabu.”

“Nakalista raw po ako sa mga pusher daw po,” suspect Edmil Ejercito told Radyo Inquirer 990AM.

Ejercito admitted to previous abuse of illegal drugs but said he had already stopped.

“Dati po akong nagte-take po niyan pero ngayon ‘di na po,” he said.

But an officer from the CIDG, identified in the radio report as “PO3 Dimaano,” said a sachet of alleged shabu was found under the pillow of Ejercito, who was already in bed at the time of the operation.

Various raids and busts have taken place in the country as part of President Rodrigo Duterte’s campaign against drugs.
