29 suspected drug dealers arrested in Sultan Kudarat

KIDAPAWAN CITY—At least 29 suspected drug dealers were arrested in simultaneous raids in nine towns and a city in Sultan Kudarat province before dawn Thursday.

Senior Superintendent Raul Supiter, Sultan Kudarat police chief, said police assets have conducted test operations against the suspected illegal drug dealers before the dawn raids backed by 25 search warrants.

There were also those arrested in two buy-bust operations.

The raids and buy-bust operations were conducted in Tacurong City and the towns of Isulan, Bagumbayan, Colombio, Esperanza, Lambayong, Lebak, Lutayan, Kalamansig and President Quirino.

Supiter said a total of 268 sachets of suspected shabu, a half kilogram of dried marijuana leaves and drug paraphernalia were confiscated from the suspects.

Aside from suspected illegal drugs, the raiding teams also recovered a fragmentation grenade, a sub-machine gun, two .45-caliber pistol, a .38-caliber revolver, a homemade shotgun and improvised pistol.

“We are still determining the street value of the illegal drugs confiscated from the suspects,” Supiter said.
