10 drug suspects arrested in simultaneous raid in Kidapawan City
KIDAPAWAN CITY—Police authorities arrested 10 drug suspects during a simultaneous raid carried out in at least four areas here before dawn Friday.
Senior Supt. Alexander Tagum, North Cotabato police chief, said the test buys the police had earlier conducted yielded positive results and prompted the raid—which was backed by search warrants—in Nursery Site, Alim Street, Bangsamoro Village and Bryant Street here.
“Our assets had consistently bought illegal drugs from these areas,” he said.
Tagum said at least 25 small and medium sachets of suspected shabu were confiscated from the arrested suspects.
Two of them even yielded fragmentation grenades, he added.
Tagum said the result of the raid firmed up the police’s belief that the city has become a transshipment point for illegal drugs coming from Maguindanao and Cotabato City.
