Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle has urged Filipinos to continuously pray for the Philippines as it faces a new chapter under the leadership of President Rodrigo Duterte.

Tagle also expressed gratitude to those who exercised their right to vote and those who ensured that the May polls would be clean and orderly.

(Let us continue to pray for our beloved country that is now facing a new chapter in its history, and I also thank all Filipinos who performed their sacred duty and voted in the elections.

Voting is a sacred duty. Thank you to all those who voted, as well as for keeping the polls orderly, clean and credible. We also thank all the volunteers of the PPCRV and other groups who joined in promoting voter education and maintaining the orderliness of the elections.)

But Tagle said every Filipino’s mission did not end in the elections, as he called on the public to play its part in serving the Philippines by helping their countrymen, especially the poor.

(In each chapter of our lives, we are sent by Jesus. But let us remain humble. Tell them Jesus sent you.) CDG
