Cop goes berserk at MPD headquarters

/ 05:07 PM July 03, 2016

A policeman from Tondo ran amuck inside Manila Police District (MPD) headquarters on Sunday afternoon and threatened to shoot his fellow cops who had attempted to arrest him, police said.

MPD general assignment section identified the suspect as Police Officer 1 Vincent Paul Solares of Raxabago police station.

A shootout ensued as Solares tried to avoid being arrested by members of the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT). Solares fired at least two shots before he was subdued and arrested.

As of writing, police are still establishing the motive behind Solares’ actions. RAM/rga
