New presidential security chief takes over

Colonel Rolando Joselito Bautista on Saturday assumed office as the new Presidential Security Group Chief (PSG).

Bautista formally took over the position from Rear Admiral Raul Ubando during the change of command ceremony at the PSG grandstand.

Prior to being picked as the incoming PSG commander, Bautista was the commander of the Joint Task Group in Basilan. He graduated at the Philippine Military Academy in 1985.

He also served as commander of the 73rd Infantry Batallion from 2005 to 2007 and as commander of Task Force General Santos.

In an earlier interview, Bautista has said that President Rodrigo Duterte was not a security nightmare, adding that they would implement adjustments to suit the requests of Duterte.

He said that  they were willing to implement changes in their protocols for Duterte so long as this would not compromise his security.

The PSG is tasked to provide security to the country’s chief executive and to the first family. CDG
