You can visit, sleep in Malacañang, Rody tells Tondo folk

LET us not forget the people outside Malacañang.

So said President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday night before hundreds of poor families in Tondo, Manila.

Duterte arrived at the Delpan Sports Complex at 8:41 p.m. for a solidarity dinner with the marginalized community. The chief executive is expected to have dinner with the poor.

Social Welfare Secretary Judy Taguiwalo said Duterte really wanted to be with the poor, which she said, were at the center of his campaign.

During his speech, the President said the poor are most welcome inside Malacañang during his administration. He said the poor could even sleep in Malacañang.
He reiterated his vow to use the earnings of the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (Pagcor) for the healthcare of the poor, saying this would be used to buy their medicine and for their hospitalization.

He also said that he would work to ensure that the marginalized would be able to send their children to school.

“Sisikapin ko lahat kayo makipag-aral,” he said, receiving a loud cheer from the crowd.

Duterte promised to the crowd that the government would help them and in return asked them to help and cooperate with the government.

During the event, Duterte’s running mate Sen Alan peter Cayetano was also present at the gathering.
