Newly sworn-in President Rodrigo Duterte was photographed with his partner and their daughter on Thursday morning ahead of his noontime inauguration at Malacañang.
A photo by Radio-Television Malacañang (RTVM) showed Duterte inside a car with his common-law wife Cielito “Honeylet” Avanceña and their 12-year-old-daughter Veronica, also known as Kitty, before heading to the presidential palace for his oath-taking.
Avanceña, a former beauty queen and nurse, is the President’s current partner. Duterte’s marriage with his former wife Elizabeth Zimmerman was annulled in 2000.
It was Kitty who held the Bible while Duterte was being sworn in.
Zimmerman and her three children with Duterte—Davao City Mayor Sara, Vice Mayor Paolo, and Sebastian—were all present in the ceremonies.
Paolo posted a photo of Duterte’s immediate family inside Malacañang without Avanceña and her daughter, prompting netizens to ask the whereabouts of the two.
The vice mayor explained that Duterte, Avanceña, and their daughter had “their own family picture.” YG
