MANILA — The public can expect rains and thunderstorms in Metro Manila for the inauguration of President-elect Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) indicated on its 5 p.m. Wednesday forecast that there will be cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms in Metro Manila, brought by the intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ) affecting Southern Luzon and Visayas.
Rains and thunderstorms will also be experienced in Central Luzon, Mimaropa, Calabarzon, Bicol Region, Northern Mindanao and Visayas. The weather bureau said there would be partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms in remaining parts of the country.
For Luzon and Visayas residents, they should also expect light to moderate winds from the east to the southeast while winds from south to the southeast will prevail over Mindanao. Coastal waters are expected to be slight to moderate on Thursday. SFM
