Duterte inaugural on June 30 not a holiday—Malacañang
Malacañang on Wednesday clarified that June 30, which marks the first day of Rodrigo Duterte as 16th President of the Philippines, is not considered a holiday.
“June 30, 2016 is a regular working day,” Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr. told media, citing a message from Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa.
Duterte will be sworn in at the Malacañang Palace on Thursday morning. He will replace President Benigno Aquino III.

In 2010, former president and now Pampanga Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo declared June 30, 2010, the day of Aquino’s inauguration, a special non-working holiday. CDG
