THE INAUGURATION of seven Presidents: Elpidio Quirino, Ramon Magsaysay, Carlos Garcia, Diosdado Macapagal, Ferdinand Marcos, Fidel Ramos and Benigno Aquino III took place at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila. Three Presidents—Manuel Quezon, Jose Laurel and Manuel Roxas—were sworn in on the steps of the Legislative Building in Manila. Other inaugurals held elsewhere in Manila were those of Corazon Aquino in 1986 at Club Filipino and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in 2001 at the Edsa Shrine. Four presidential inaugurals occurred outside Manila: those of Emilio Aguinaldo and Joseph Estrada in Bulacan province, Manuel Quezon in Corregidor, and Arroyo (2004) in Cebu City. Only Sergio Osmeña’s inauguration in 1944 was held on foreign soil. Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
