A FACTORY worker from Quezon City has claimed the P97-million jackpot in the recent Super Lotto 6/49 draw, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) said.

The 48-year-old father of two was the sole player to pick the winning combination—09-11-18-23-25-31—in the June 19 draw. He took home exactly P97,109,808.

PCSO Vice Chair and General Manager Jose Ferdinand Rojas II said the winner had been playing the lottery for the last two years. The instant multimillionaire bought two tickets worth P40 and selected numbers based on the birth dates of family members.

When he claimed his prize at the PCSO head office in Mandaluyong City on Thursday, he told Rojas that he will be quitting his job so he and his wife could focus on managing the apartment they plan to build.

He will use his winnings to purchase a piece of farmland for extra income and save the rest of the prize for his children’s future.

Since January, more than two dozen players have won and claimed the lottery’s jackpot prizes. The PCSO currently has five games where players can win at least P6 million nightly.

These are the Lotto 6/42 (P6 million), Mega Lotto 6/45 (P9 million), Super Lotto 6/49 (P16 million), Grand Lotto 6/55 (P30 million) and the newest Ultra Lotto 6/58 (P50 million).
