This was what J.K. Rowling, British author of the best-selling Harry Potter series, said on Friday as she expressed her disappointment over Britain’s vote to leave the European Union (EU).

Rowling, who mostly lived in Scotland, was responding to a tweet of a follower who asked her to “do something” about the referendum.
The UK voted to leave the EU by 52 percent in a historic referendum that rocked global financial markets—stock markets and oil prices crashed and the pound plunged to its lowest level in three decades. British Prime Minister David Cameron also announced that he will resign in October after the “Leave” vote.

Rowling, who was in favor of the “Remain” vote, suggested that the Brexit vote would renew calls for Scottish independence.
“Scotland will seek independence now. Cameron’s legacy will be breaking up two unions. Neither needed to happen,” she said.

“Goodbye, UK,” Rowling wrote in a previous tweet.
Scotland and Northern Ireland voted to remain, while England and Wales voted to leave. YG/RAM/rga
