THE PBA DEVELOPMENTAL League Aspirants Cup raises its curtains to a brand new season with a thrilling double-header today at the Ynares Center in Pasig City.
Freego Jeans, a squad composed of the core of the Adamson Falcons, will be taking on the PC Gilmore Wizards in the opening game while Blackwater faces off against Boracay Rum in the main offing of the PBA’s breeding ground for future pros.
Freego Jeans’ backcourt, which has been a concern last season, has been shored up with the inclusion of collegiate studs Jaralen Tampus, Alwyn Elinon and Jason Escueta.
Now coached by Art dela Cruz, PC Gilmore also underwent massive buildup in preparation for this season, putting premium on speed and height. Eric Agas, Mark Acosta, Mark Sarangay and Jet Vidal are the only holdovers.
A pair of 6-foot-7s from National University in Spencer Eman and Marion Magat will man the frontcourt for the Wizards. /Correspondent Jonas Panerio
