The state weather bureau is tracking a low pressure area near Mindoro on Friday.
The LPA, embedded along the intertropical convergence zone in the Visayas and Mindanao, was last spotted 530 kilometers west of Calapan, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
Pagasa forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said by phone the LPA was likely to exit the Philippine area of responsibility within 24 hours.
“It will intensify into a tropical depression once outside PAR,” he said.
Cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over the Visayas, Mindanao and over the provinces of Mindoro and Palawan.
Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms, Pagasa said. CDG/rga
