JV posts bail, seeks fast trial

SEN. JV Ejercito is hoping for a speedy trial on his technical malversation case over a P2-million firearm deal he entered as San Juan City mayor, saying that he wants his name cleared as soon as possible.

Ejercito made the statement as he posted P6,000 bail for the case on Wednesday following the Sandiganbayan’s issuance of his arrest warrant on Wednesday.

According to him, he was keeping a positive outlook and is confident that the Sandiganbayan justices handling his case would be fair.

“If possible, I hope there would be weekly hearings so that this would be over, to be able to clear my name as quickly as possible,” he told Senate reporters.
