3 killed, 2 hurt in Nueva Ecija gun attacks

CABANATUAN CITY, Philippines—Three people, including a 61-year-old woman, were killed while two others were wounded in separate gun attacks by motorcycle-riding men in Nueva Ecija on Tuesday.

Baby Ann Javier, a rice trader from Lupao town, was riding a motorcycle driven by her 20-year-old son Jomarie along Canuto Ramos St. in San Jose City when they were attacked at 10:45 a.m. Javier died at the hospital, where Jomarie is being treated for gunshot wounds, said SPO1 Joel Beltejar, San Jose City police investigator.

In San Leonardo town, Joy Gaton, 29, was shot and killed by motorcycle-riding gunmen along the Maharlika Highway at 4:30 p.m.

Alvin Quejada, 37, from Gen. Natividad town, and his 53-year-old helper Reynaldo Bautista were inside an Elf mini-dump truck (ABK 2002) when they were shot at 11:56 p.m. in Barangay (village) Mayapyap Sur, Cabanatuan City.

Investigator SPO1 Ronel Balundo said Quejado died from multiple gunshot wounds, while Bautista is being treated at a hospital for a gunshot wound in the stomach. RAM
