The Philippine Air Force is expecting President-elect Rodrigo Duterte to attend its anniversary to be held five days after he assumes office.
PAF spokesperson Colonel Robert Musico said on Tuesday that they have sent an invitation to Duterte for the Air Force’s 69th anniversary at Clark Air Base on July 5.
“The Air Force will be giving him the usual parade and review…and of course along with it is ‘yung capability parade of aircraft,” he said.
Air Force aircraft will also fly on a “69″ formation to mark the anniversary.
Duterte will assume his post as President on June 30.
The Air Force anniversary is believed to be the second military event for Duterte as President. The turnover ceremony for the next Armed Forces of the Philippines chief of staff is tentatively scheduled for July 1.
The Air Force anniversary is held every 1st of July but it was moved a few days for Duterte “so at least to give him a little time.” JE/rga
