DAGUPAN CITY—A suspect in the 2015 shooting of a former Pangasinan board member was arrested on Monday in Mangaldan town.
Mario Castillo, 46, was arrested at a house in Barangay Anolid at 3:30 p.m. by a composite team of policemen from the towns of Manaoag, Mangaldan, and San Jacinto, said Chief Insp. Brendon Palisoc, Manaoag police chief.
Castillo was one of two motorcycle riding gunmen who allegedly shot and wounded Jeremy Rosario on his way home to Manaoag on March 11, 2015.
Rosario had just been elected board member in the May 9 polls.
Palisoc said Castillo surrendered after he was shown an arrest warrant for frustrated murder issued by Judge Tita Obinario of the Regional Trial Court Branch 45 in Urdaneta City.
Castillo, who is from Barangay Bolo in San Jacinto, was traced to his new address after days of surveillance, he said.
