Man found dead in apparent suicide in Subic
SUBIC BAY FREEPORT — An unidentified man was found dead in an apparent suicide inside this free port on Saturday morning, police said.
The body of the man in his mid-20s was discovered hanging from a tree by a garbage collector at 9 a.m., said Chief Insp. Edmar dela Torre, head of the Olongapo City Crime Laboratory Office.
Dela Torre said a white plastic flat rope was tied around the neck of the man who was wearing a red sando and denim shorts.
Investigators described the man to be about 6-foot tall and fair-skinned. The man’s right arm sports a tattoo, Dela Torre said.
A bag was found near the man’s body but it did not contain any identification cards, Dela Torre added.
The police said they are not ruling out the possibility of a foul play. JE
