5 suspected drug dealers killed in Ecija, Bulacan

SAN JOSE CITY, Nueva Ecija—Three suspected drug dealers were killed on Friday dawn by policemen who were responding to information about an illegal drug shipment.

Salman Macapundag of Parañaque City and Ariel Samonte of Novaliches, Quezon City were killed when they fired at the policemen in Palestina village here. The third fatality has not yet been identified.

The suspects were driving a white sedan containing 40 bags of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) when they were accosted by the police who had set up a dragnet, said Supt. Reynaldo dela Cruz, city police chief.

Three handguns were recovered from the crime scene.

Earlier on Thursday (June 16) in Bulacan, the San Miguel town police killed two suspected drug dealers and arrested an accomplice.

Joseph Maniquiz, 47, and his 49-year-old brother Feliciano died after engaging policemen during a buy-bust operation in San Juan village.

Police arrested Alex Carpio, who was at the house, but the subject of the buy-bust identified as “Epak” escaped. Police recovered guns and suspected shabu at the house.

In Subic, Zambales, authorities arrested 10 drug suspects in two buy-bust operations undertaken on Wednesday (June 15) and Friday (June 17).
A combined team from the Subic police and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Central Luzon arrested Gerald Donque, Billy Whiteford, Garrett Donque, Leonardo Quentana, Chevarly Cawit, Alfredo Cunanan, Florencio Añora, Romeo Reyes, Sonny Libre and Ben Torres.
Confiscated from the suspects were 12 sachets containing suspected shabu.
