Man jailed for illegal drugs caught getting shabu from visitor

MANILA – Already detained for illegal drugs, a 43-year-old man got into another trouble when police said he was caught accepting shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) from a visitor.

Superintendent Alex Daniel, head of the Jose Abad Santos police station in Manila, identified the suspect as Erwin Eugenio of Dagupan Street in Tondo.

Eugenio was recently arrested for drug use. But while in jail, his still unidentified visitors gave him a plastic sachet, which contained suspected methamphetamines.

Daniel said it was discovered during a surprise inspection on Monday night.

On duty policeman PO2 Jimmy Pelagio received the information and ordered Eugenio to empty his pockets where the police officer found the plastic sachet.

Daniel said Eugenio would be charged for violating section 11 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, the law against drug possession.  SFM
