TODAY, June 14, is the 41st death anniversary of National Artist for Architecture Pablo Sebero Antonio. A pioneer of the modern Philippine architecture, Antonio was born on Jan. 25, 1902, in Binondo, Manila. Among his notable works are the Far Eastern University Administration and Science buildings and the Manila Polo Club. In 1971, he received the Patnubay ng Sining at Kalinangan Award from the City of Manila and the Republic Cultural Heritage Award the following year. He was posthumously named national artist in 1976.
