2 men shoot dead cop wife of Maguindanao vice mayor
TACURONG CITY—Two motorcycle-riding men on Tuesday noon shot dead a police officer who was the wife of a vice mayor in Maguindanao.
Supt. Rannie Hachuela, Tacurong City police director, identified the victim as Police Officer 3 Lilibeth Sabal, who was detailed with the Philippine Maritime Group based in General Santos City.
Hachuela said the slain officer was the wife of Vice Mayor Abdul Wahab Allan Sabal of Talitay, Maguindanao.
Citing a police report, Hachuela said the victim and three others were on board a Toyota Hi-Lux going from General Santos to Maguindanao.
They parked beside the national highway in Tacurong City to rest when two men on a motorbike opened fire.
Sabal’s driver, Sammy Alimudin, was hit and rushed to the hospital while another companion, Nurshida Monico, was unhurt.
Police said the gunmen wore bonnets and fled toward Isulan, Sultan Kudarat.
