SAN PEDRO CITY, Laguna, Philippines—A search team on Tuesday recovered the bodies of two persons who went missing after they were swept away by a flashflood in Majayjay town in Laguna province on Sunday, police said.
Senior Insp. Marcelino Marcial, Majayjay police chief, said the two-day search ended after rescuers found the bodies of Vanessa Carillo and Bryan Alemania on Tuesday morning.

Carillo’s body was found in Barangay (village) Bakia in Majayjay while Alemania was found in a section of a river in the nearby town of Magdalena.
Rescuers on Monday found the body of Alemania’s six-year-old daughter, Christine Althea, seven kilometers from the Dalitiwan Resort in Barangay Ilayang Banga.
The three were guests at a mountainside resort when a flashflood, triggered by heavy rains on Sunday, swept them into the Dalitiwan River.
Marcial said rescuers had a hard time locating the bodies due to the strong current and thick mud in the river./rga
